Exploring the State of Being Mindful
Mindfulness
to me is a state of stilled mind in which you listen to both your bodies
senses and the moment - put another way it is a state of feeling which
is undisturbed by thought and emotion.
I feel that
being mindful, whether its being mindful of your emotions or being mindful
of the moment, is an under rated skill, and that it could well be one
of the corner stones of being a jedi.
Being mindful of the moment.
When you have
achieved a still mind, being mindful of the moment is a silent state
of listening to your heart and feelings, which allows you to act in
a split second should action be necessary, or be peaceful and still
in a state of tranquility. The true state of being mindful of the moment
is achievable, and allows insight, as the way of the Force dictates.
Being mindful of your emotions.
To achieve the
true state of being mindful in the moment, one must be mindful of your
thoughts and emotions at all times. Even when your mind is still, emotions,
and the events that cause them, still have their power - it has been
said that jedi are emotionless, but this is not so. Whenever our emotions
are brought to the front for any reason we should always tell ourselves
to be mindful, and take a step back for a moment, so that our emotions
don't take control.
You can do this
by stilling your mind of thoughts and concentrating your consciousness
upon your heart. Always listen to your heart.
Be mindful,
smile, and then be at peace.

this state as I follow the jedi way, and hopefully I'll gain more insight
to share with you.
