Fairtrade Products and how the Fairtrade Foundation helps alleviate poverty around the world.
The FairTrade Foundation and the Fairtrade Labelling Organizations (FLO) International work to provide fair trade standards and practises around the world that lead to sustainable development especially in third world countries and helps to alleviate poverty in those countries by giving disadvantaged producers and their communities a better deal.
When you buy products bearing the Fairtrade logo above you are in effect helping to raise the standard of living of fairtrade producers, their workers and families and communities around the world, especially in poorer countries. By giving these producers and their communities a fair deal and control of their lives and livelihoods aid funds are released for other needs which also helps to alleviate the stress upon aid programs and charities.
Fairtrade products are typically agricultural in nature at this time, but manufactured products are likely to be targeted in the future.
Sustainable development is a good thing for the whole world, as it has good social, economic and environmental impact.
