Hi

It seemed that Talturus faked his own death, and after a year, returned online and decided to close the United Jedi forum and site to those of us who'd spent a year on this mission. The mission itself wasn't a failure, as it did bring ambassadors from several branches of jedi together, and I am glad to have been a part of the effort. The mission has changed somewhat, and I'll be announcing news of this new effort, and new location shortly.

Anyway, here is Jedi Talturus statement after reappearing ghostlike on the boards at the United Jedi forum a few weeks back now. This caused a bit of an uproar, as you'd expect, but mindfulness helped me to transcend my own anger.

May the Force be with You

Jedi Richard

Talturus's statement

Greetings United Jedi Members:

For those who do not know me I am the founder of United Jedi’s forum and website. On July 16th my wife sent Madame Skywalker an email that I had passed and gave her a newspaper article. I am not dead and did not die in a car crash. It is questionable if it was the right thing to do but why I did it will be explained later on.

I became a Jedi when the Jedi Community was first starting out. I decided to become one because I though it provided answers. I have traveled all around the world searching and learning questions to ask and answers to look for. I thought the Jedi could provide various viewpoints and very diverse philosophies. In the beginning it did. As time passed I left never to be heard of for years. I was trained under very wise and very intelligent people. They were different then most Jedi. They did not tell me what was right and what was wrong or what to do and how to do it. They knew that they did not always have the right answers and knew that I needed to find them myself. They introduced me to all different answers and beliefs and let me choose which were right and which were wrong. My masters weren’t as much teachers they were more like guides. They were truly great people. They saw the Jedi path as way of learning and bettering yourself. Not once did they tell me to go meditate or go practice an exercise or read a certain book. They told me about the benefits of doing those, and I usually did what they said. If I did say to them “No, I don’t think it would be a good idea to do that” they would reply, “Very well, it is your choice as this is your life and your journey”. They were true inspirations they were what I think a Jedi should be.

I left the Jedi Community because it was becoming more and more fake and phony. The teachings and philosophies became more radical and many new philosophies were created. I couldn’t watch the Jedi Community go to hell in a hand basket. My masters and mentors tried to stop it but their results were futile. I went back to self-studying.

When I decided to start United Jedi I wanted to see if the Jedi Community wanted to take a step forward. I did not want to be the leader of United Jedi because I knew I was ready to help the community but I wasn’t sure if the community wanted to be helped. That is why I decided to get my wife to help fake my death. I wanted to see if United Jedi could pull through and do great things. I did forget that I gave admin powers to Steven when the plan originally took place. That is why I was surprised when he stepped up and took the reigns. It was a very bold move. He could have turned tyrannical and power hungry. It is ironic that it did not go that way but the opposite. He tried to give up the power to the members. But Steven was flawed as a leader. He was an adolescent. That meant that he had many social, academic, athletic, and personal obligations to fulfill. Being a leader of anything usually requires a seven-day a week schedule and was ultimately his downfall as the leader. Another situation that had occurred multiple times was the fluctuation of activity. It was bewildering why that is so. United Jedi had a very important and wonderful goal, unity. I think that people realized that United Jedi offers them very little. They started to focus on what “United Jedi can do for me” and not “what I can do for the community”. As I ponder this I realize that it is not too surprising that some people think that. Members here then began to get caught up in the politics of United Jedi and continued to lose sight of its purpose. That is why I am closing it. I know it might seem unfair and unjust but that is the way it is. Many Jedi have lost sight in the goal and have begun to get caught up in very trivial things. In the grand scheme of things the community isn’t ready to be united.

United Jedi will be closing in one week, what you do in that one-week I do not care. You have free will to talk about a new Unity Site or anything else. I will not stop you from doing that or limit you. I owe you guys that.

I would finally like to say that there are some very great and wise Jedi apart of United Jedi and the Community. Some of them are very real and very wise. There are some who are not. The majority of the Jedi Community is very phony and fake and do not desire to change. Then there are some of the most important Jedi. The ones who are lost and need help in finding the questions and need help in answering questions. Some of the wise aid them in their journey and there are some Jedi that hurt them. I want to tell all Jedi who read this that there are only a few right answers out there. Let them figure out what is right and what is wrong themselves. There is a good chance that you and even I do not have all the right answers. Good luck to all the Jedi out there and the Community out there. I will soon go back to self-studying. I may come back but only when I feel the community is ready. But I will say that if any of you wish to have a guide on your path and maybe learn some of the questions out there you are always welcome to email me. I will and can never turn a blind eye to someone who really wishes to learn.

I and a small team of jedi looked into this problem, after further research showed that it wasn't an elaborate hoaxe, as many thought it was - lol don't ask me how I felt that this situation was real.

The news is that Jedi Dolino's and Mr LacTaoTao's case went to court and they both received the minimum sentence, and they are due for release next february 2010. I am monitoring the situation, but will only be able to release the full story once Jedi Dolino has been released.

What the team did find was a massive human rights problem in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia linked to the exploitation of migrant workers, especially from the Philipines and across Asia, though the following 130 page human rights watch paper shows that some of the horror stories of people involved are not exclusive to Asian people.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/11130776/Exploitation-and-Abuse-of-Migrant-Workers-in-Saudi-Arabia-by-Human-Rights-Watch-2004

Even though there is some International pressure being applied to improve the lot of migrant workers and human rights I will be looking into this further.

I received the following reply from my MP via email on the 10th June and I feel progress is being made due to continued campaigning.

May the Force be with You

Dear Mr Strange

Thank you for your postcard regarding Climate Change.
I warmly welcomed the inclusion of the Climate Change Bill in the Queen’s Speech and the fact that the UK is the first country to set legally binding targets for Co2 emissions is a good thing.

While the government is committed to a 60% reduction in emissions they have established an independent committee on climate change to advise whether this target should be increased. If this is the case then an even more ambitious target could be set

In addition the Committee on Climate Change will report each year as to whether we are meeting our climate change targets. I think it is important that shipping and aviation are included as you state and I look forwarded to supporting these measures when the bill comes before Parliament.
If you have any further queries please get in touch.

Yours sincerely

The Following reply from Unilever feels like progress in the right direction, but we shall see. Hard to see the future is.

May the Force be with You

Jedi Strange

Thank you for your recent email concerning Palm Oil.

We appreciate getting feedback and comments on our brands and products.
Your thoughts on the important issue of palm oil are no exception.

The purpose of this e-mail is to update you on recent developments and
outline what actions Unilever is taking.

As you may know, on 1 May 2008, we announced our intention to ensure that
by 2015 ALL of the palm oil that we use will be drawn from sustainable
sources. The origin of these supplies will be certified by independent
third parties. At the same time we also announced our support for an
immediate moratorium on any further deforestation in Indonesia for palm oil
cultivation.

No other company has made such a radical commitment. Unilever is credibly
able to do so because it has been working on the sustainable cultivation of
palm oil for more than a decade. We started as far back as 1995 with the
establishment of our sustainable agriculture programme. In 2004 we took the
lead in setting up a multi-stakeholder body - the Roundtable on Sustainable
Palm - and we currently chair this group.

We are taking a number of actions now to reach our goal as soon as
possible.

. We are seeking to build a large coalition of like-minded companies and
NGOs - including Greenpeace - to join forces with us so we can act quickly
and effectively. Unilever is only part of the solution.

. We will engage with the Indonesian Government to get their support on
the ground.

. We will ensure that the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) drives
change by applying sanctions on suppliers who continue unlawful
deforestation practices.

. We will start buying certified sustainable palm oil in the second half
of this year as soon as the first certified oil is available so that we can
kick-start the market in this "new" commodity. For this, we will use the
certification scheme that the Roundtable launched at the end of last year
based on commonly accepted sustainability criteria which includes a
prohibition on the clearing of rainforests.

We believe that this commitment will have a significant and positive impact
on climate change as well on the protection of the rain forests. 2015 is a
realistic target given the complexities of the palm oil supply chain - we
need to include everyone from the large growers to the small farmer - and
the difficulties of establishing full traceability of all the constituent
parts of palm oil itself.

We will regularly report our progress and we encourage you to learn more
about our commitments and track our progress by visiting our web site at
www.unilever.com.

I hope this information assures you of how seriously we are taking this
issue and how deeply committed we are to making real change with our
partners. We fully recognise that this is the right thing to do for the
people who use our products, for the environment, and for the communities
in and around which palm oil is grown.

Thank you for your feedback - we look forward to sharing more updates on
our progress.

Sincerely,

Lettemieke Mulder
Director, Corporate Responsibility & NGO Relations

need to include everyone from the large growers to the small farmer - and
the difficulties of establishing full traceability of all the constituent
parts of palm oil itself.

We will regularly report our progress and we encourage you to learn more
about our commitments and track our progress by visiting our web site at

I hope this information assures you of how seriously we are taking this
issue and how deeply committed we are to making real change with our
partners. We fully recognise that this is the right thing to do for the
people who use our products, for the environment, and for the communities
in and around which palm oil is grown.

Thank you for your feedback - we look forward to sharing more updates on
our progress.

Just to say thanks to my MP, Lindsay Hoyle, for replying stating that he would support an increased carbon emissions reduction target of 80%. He has asked the Secretary of State for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs if the government will consider this proposal in the following bill.

New information from scientists has come indicating that a 80% carbon reduction by 2050 will be needed and I've contacted my MP again with this new information.

I should imagine I've kept him rather busy of late, but this is important.
