Some of the USA’s most important laws for protecting their health and the environment are under attack. Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) wants to repeal virtually any federal or state protections against the buildup of dangerous carbon pollution. He wants to give big polluters free rein to continue dumping unlimited amounts of dangerous carbon pollution into their (and our) air, threatening our health and perilously warming the planet.

His latest bill would sacrifice the health and safety of all Americans for the profit and convenience of the nation’s biggest polluters by exempting dangerous greenhouse gases from regulation under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act and other bedrock environmental laws.

The Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act and other laws make up the safety net that protect our children’s future. I hope that Senator Barrasso will not be allowed to shred that safety net just to please the USA’s largest polluters.

As the rest of the world may eventually breath some of this air, you’d think there should be some UN mechanism to control air pollution (at the least). I’ve not found anything yet, but if anyone knows of any such global mechanism please let me know, as I need reassurance.

My friend Jedi Jade recently shared a bit of news, from his local community of Bloomington, in Indiana, USA, about plans to create an eco park within the city limits over there. This is what I call greening up to the city, and as there would be much community involvement in the project, it should also help build community spirit. In the event of economic collapse, or any such state that would threaten local food security, amongst other concerns, such a well thought out and fully integrated eco facility would be a life saver to the local community. The world would be a much safer and nicer place if this type of plan was acted upon by your local community.

Thompson/ Bloomington Eco-Park - An 80 Acre property on S. Rogers North of Thompson Park owned by the county but in the city limits of Bloomington.

Originally planned for a youth prison, it’s now being revisioned for a multi-use facility which could include

• a year-round farmers market that would be open 6 days / week;
• indoor and outdoor roofed sales areas;
• commercial produce seller’s offices / cold storage / freezers / warehouses;
• indoor retail, short-term rental commercial kitchens / business incubators;
• root cellars;
• indoor space for community classrooms, workshops and a farm school;
• 8 acres of community gardens;
• 5 acres for aquaculture;
• 5 acres of water catchment ponds;
• 10 acres of community orchards,
• 20 acres of urban forest (and polyculture forestry training school);
• commercial and mobile abattoir with integrated constructed wetlands;
• fields for horticulture crops and nursery of useful plants;
• soil lab;
• agri/hort tourism;
• composting facility,
• and ALSO a troubled youth horticultural therapy facility with dorms, gardens, offices, and classrooms integrated with the Eco-Park.
• It’s 100 foot elevation above the surrounding landscape provides potential for wind-power electrical generation and a great south-facing aspect for solar photovoltaic and heating.

I’ve been involved with campaigns to establish marine reserves before around the world. It’s a shame that it needs doing, but that’s the world we live in today. The seas, lakes and rivers are so important to life on earth, and yet they get polluted in so many different ways - anyway -  

I just sent a message through Greenpeace to Dr. Jane Lubchenco, the head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, asking her to protect the sperm whale and the entire Gulf ecosystem by establishing marine reserves in ecologically critical areas. We can’t afford another disaster like the one in the Gulf. Join me and take action here:

Greenpeace has sent a ship to the Gulf to do an independent assessment of the possible damage done to the sperm whale population. Hopefully, people like Dr. Lubchenco make sure the next disaster never happens.

Raising the Djed

Raising the djed appears to be a practise that dates back at least to ancient egypt, and is thought to be a practise designed to counter times of chaos. The drums of the shaman and the chanting of the monks may also have similar aims of countering chaos and dark energies, in its many forms.

“Historically, the Djed was raised at crucial transitional times between cycles, evoking light and stability to dispel darkness and disorder. Such periods were the Winter solstices, the failing years of a reigning monarch or the coronation of a new one. However, according to the texts of the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the Djed served its greatest purpose and revealed its greatest mystery at the ending of one world age and the beginning of another. This is such a time!” by Vincent Bridges.

The time that Vincent is talking about is 2012 and the transitional years before and afterwords (the astronomical event that coincides with this prophetic date takes about 26 years). On December 21, 2012, for the first time in approximately 26,000 years the Sun will rise to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the ecliptic plane.

We are in the last few years of the 4th Age of Man, and about to enter this new 5th Age of Man. It is thought that the ending of each of these ages of man was accompanied by chaos in the form of climatic and social upheaval, amongst other possibilities (the Great Flood).

If you look at the actual djed, which is a pillar, you may notice its technical appearance. It has been suggested that it looks like a capacitor, transformer and insulation device that could have been used to tap the ionosphere for power, or lightning, but we may have lost the knowledge of its operation since the last age.

The Egyptians themselves may have lost the knowledge of its operation, and may have used it as a focal point of worship - civilization around then may have been founded by survivors of the great flood, and much would have been lost in the way of knowledge and expertise. There are submerged cities and structures around the world, and if biblical accounts are to be believed then the calamity could have occurred within weeks (40 days and 40 nights).

Whether the djed was an actual device or not matters not at this point. The djed pillar also has symbolic links to the World Tree of Norse mythology, Yggdrasil, and other world trees in cultures around the world (mainly euro-asian).  The world tree basically connects different realities (underworld, this world, upper world) together - from my own experience I would say that the concept of all 3 realities overlaying our planet earth is a distinct possibility. Energies, light and dark, from above and below, converge in this material “middle” earth and affect life as we know it, especially conscious humanity, which is more apt to the manipulation of these and other, cosmic energies. If you take the underworld and upperworld into account then this planet earth is important to more than just humanity, and must be preserved whole.

Raising the djed is also thought to be a practise designed to raise awareness and consciousness whilst maintaining the peace and stability of order in cosmos. The djedi of old may have been the stable ones (they may have been mindful). I feel that consciousness manifests where it is able, but the Force flows through all, and we jedi may have some task to play in the raising of the Djed into the 5th Age of Man.

I am starting this thread to get other jedi’s feelings on the matter of what part the jedi should take. I feel that non action will not do in this case. Please post a comment if you have any vaild suggestions, ideas, or other input.

I came across this neat little vision of the future that Honda has for replacing petrol powered cars with those powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology, and I just had to share :). Not only do Honda FCX Clarity’s look good, drive well, and emit only water from the exhaust, but they have come up with a home energy system that provides heat and electricity for the home whilst providing fuel for your car.

They’ve been testing this system since 2003, and it’s looking very good, as they’re improving the technology in leaps and bounds. All we need now is for hydrogen refuelling stations to open up around the world.

We’re still very much in the building process online and offline in the real world, and though our very first real world jedi facility may be some ways down the road, we’ve made important first steps to realising this goal.

Coelescere Covenant are currently accepting donations/funds (look for the paypal button on site) for the organisation and jedi missions, the first of which has been in aid of the Nashville flood incident. Our involvement in regards to this mission may be minimal at this time, but it goes a long way to showing jedi compassion, and the intent of Coelescere Covenant as an organisation of jedi.

The future of America’s rainforest, the ancient Tongass National
Forest in Southeast Alaska, is at risk.

Congress is considering legislation that would transfer much of
the Tongass’ most biologically-rich lands, including vast swaths
of old-growth trees, to a for-profit corporation which would
then be free to log and develop it.

I just emailed my members of Congress to urge them to put a stop

One of the last remaining, largely intact temperate rainforests
in the world, the Tongass National Forest also serves as an
important buffer against climate change.

The forest provides rich conditions for larger wildlife and for
undergrowth and soils that teem with tiny life. Moss creeps into
every wooded crevice, while streams swell with salmon allowing
black and brown bears to thrive. Bald eagles, wolves, deer and
many other animals abound here as well.

Unfortunately, the Sealaska corporation has a history of
clearcutting its lands. Now it wants much of what remains of the
most ecologically-productive old growth forest in the Tongass
National Forest.

More than half of the largest trees have already been clearcut
and this bill could move at any time. There is literally no time
to waste in protecting what is left and charting a new course
for the Tongass.

I’ve just submitted the following question to the Sky News Leaders’ TV Debate that is on tv later on tonight. Lol if my question gets selected I might be on tv later on.

“There are a few thousand large pipes around the coastline of the UK, which disgorge untreated sewage directly into river or sea whenever heavy rain affects the drainage and sewage systems. At the moment it’s either this or flood our streets with untreated sewage - not a pretty choice either way. Water sustains us, and it allows life. How can we keep on polluting on a world wide scale as we are. The green revolution should not only be about power. My question is which party will look at improving waste and effluence control in the UK, and abroad?”
