Lin Wan Kung Fu and the Lin Wan Knights
Lin Wan Kung Fu was founded by Sifu Mark Strange. It is basically a blend of Northern and Southern Chinese Martial Arts styles.
Lin Wan Kung Fu's spiritual home is in Leyland in Lancashire, England the UK. Though a few classes were taught in the surrounding area, Leyland Martial Arts academy was the main base of Lin Wan Kung Fu, the Lin Wan Knights Tournament & Display Team, and Sifu Mark Strange. Until the academy was closed down Sifu Mark and some of his talented students provided a unique leisure activity to the community, which will be greatly missed by the town and travelling students alike.
The Lin Wan Knights not only appeared at tournaments, but also toured as an acrobatic kung fu display team under Sifu Mark's watchful eye and guidance.
I was privileged and lucky enough to make the Lin Wan Knights tournament team upon one occasion (5 man squad) at a tournament in Horwich, nr Bolton, though I didn't get chance to fight for the team as we got beat before it was my turn to fight (3 out of 5 wins the match). The team we faced upon that occasion was a very strong fighting team from Birmingham.
Though we didn't win upon that occasion the Lin Wan Knights matured from that day on and it wasn't long before they got noticed, and Sifu Mark and his squad members began to win trophies and titles.
